Building on our proven track record and commitment to a cleaner future in Australia, we are now embarking on our next world-first challenge: developing the largest hydrogen production facility and power station in Whyalla, South Australia. As a preferred partner working with the Government of South Australia, we anticipate that the project will be operational by early 2026.
Our Opportunity With projects in advance planning or commencing construction, we are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to play a leading role as we move to the next stage. The Project Controls Manager plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of power stations and power generation projects for the Projects Delivery function. This role is essential for providing expert planning, monitoring, and analytical support to ensure that the project adheres to its timeline, budget, and quality specifications. Leading and implementing robust control systems to track project progress and performance, directly influencing decision-making processes to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the power generation project delivery. The role will require regular travel to regional South Australia.

Using this data to forecast project outcomes accurately and make informed decisions.Developing comprehensive project schedules that are realistic and flexible enough to accommodate changes. Ensuring that all critical path items are clearly identified and closely monitored.Implementing strict cost control measures that keep the project within financial targets. Regularly reviewing and adjusting budgets to reflect project realities and ensure financial health.Delivering detailed reports that provide deep insights into project status, resource usage, and performance trends. Using reporting to drive improvements and enhance project outcomes.Effectively managing changes in project scope, schedules, and costs. Ensuring that all changes are documented, approved, and communicated clearly to all stakeholders.Working closely with project managers and other key team members to align project controls with overall project objectives. Ensuring seamless integration of project control functions into the broader project management framework.Managing external and internal team members across both schedule and cost reporting management.Exposure & Experience Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. Additional certification in project controls, such as PSP or PMI-SP, is advantageous.10+ years in project controls within the construction or energy sectors.Strong skills in project management software and methodologies.Advanced analytical skills for project data analysis and performance metrics.At ATCO Australia, we are committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment that values the contributions and perspectives of everyone on the ATCO Australia team.
