Our client a Global Oil and Gas organization in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Project Controls Manager to join them for a 12-month contract.
The Project Control Manager (PCM) assists the Project Manager (PM) in the overall control of the project and is specifically in charge of managing:
Main contract, subcontracts and procurement Cost control Planning and scheduling Progress monitoring and reporting Document control Change order management Risk management Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide the Project Manager and Project Services Manager with comprehensive and reliable data and information about the project status (actual, forecast, trend) and highlight the reasons for adverse trends if any exist Proactively assist the Project Manager in the identification of preventive measures or corrective actions, as required, to improve the project status and mitigate risks Manage the preparation of the project procedures Set the subcontracting strategy including target budgets, award dates, subcontracting principle Maintain the risk register Review and validate the subcontracts plan and database, engineering deliverables list, progress monitoring structures, master and offshore schedules, CBS structure and forecasting accuracy and manpower forecast for the project team Analyse the actual status and forecast for cost, progress and schedule Drive the preparation of change orders and/or claims, maintain the Change Register Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of the RMI (Internal Monthly Report) and PMR (Project Management Report), and any ad-hoc reporting requirements internally and externally to Clients (Sponsors meetings, Regional management requests etc) Develop, maintain and regularly update an overall manpower utilisation plan (actual and forecast) for Project Controls personnel across the project. Liaise with HR & Project Services to ensure project requirements are fulfilled Attend operations meetings, weekly management team meeting, client meetings and meetings in relation to project status Reports directly to the PM and attends weekly management team meeting Attend meetings related to project status and/or concerns, provide guidance/resolutions as required to maintain progress and/or contractual standing Ensure the project is performed in compliance with project & corporate procedures and lead by example in relation to QHSE Key Skills and Experience Required: Engineering, Construction Management, Commerce Degree or related tertiary qualification preferred Strong understanding of the principles of contracts management, cost control, planning and scheduling and risk management and project management reporting Advanced MS Excel skills Working knowledge of Primavera and Microsoft Project Scheduling Software Capability to develop and maintain databases, such as MS Access is preferred Minimum 10 years of experience in project services in the offshore/onshore oil & gas industry, or construction industry with exposure to large-scale EPC or EPCM projects
