ABOUT THE POSITION Our business seeks a Project Controls Lead to join our team on a fixed term 2-year contract working at our Kwinana Refinery.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, scheduling, cost control, and cost estimating activities for our portfolio of brownfield projects from initiation through execution to commissioning and handover to operations. This role is critical to ensuring the successful execution of the portfolio of ramp-up projects within the committed timeline and budget.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures that execution plans are consistent with the owner's execution strategy, overall objectives, and industry standards. Support ramp-up managers in planning engineering and execution of a portfolio of brownfield ramp-up projects. Work collaboratively with the owner's ramp-up team; Project Managers, Commissioning Lead and Operation Readiness Lead, Project Engineers, and Discipline Engineers to assess changes to project activities and translate these changes into the project master schedule. Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and milestones. Develop and maintain master project schedules, through all phases from design through construction and commissioning, operation readiness, and handover. Review and assess schedule information provided by the external service provider and contractors and incorporate it into the owner's master schedule. Utilize project management software (e.g. Primavera P6 or Oracle Primavera Cloud) to monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines. Facilitate regular project schedule review to track progress and resolve any issues. Identify and report potential scheduling delays and provide mitigation strategies. Monitor project expenditures and ensure they align with the approved budget. Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to obtain accurate cost information. Implement cost control measures to prevent cost overruns. Be fully conversant with the operation of SAP and Microsoft Excel as applied to project accounting and cost control.  Prepare and present regular cost reports and forecasts to management. Develop detailed cost estimates for project proposals and ongoing projects. Analyse historical data and benchmarks to improve the accuracy of cost estimates. Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation plans. Maintain a risk register and update it regularly based on project progress and changes. Create a highly committed and collaborative team environment. Ensures governance of the Owner's project planning processes, specifically compliance with procedures and policies.  Manage relationships and use 'Best for Project' decision making to deliver project objectives. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS  Diploma or above in Engineering, Project Management or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, with a focus on scheduling, planning, cost control, and cost estimating, preferably in the mining, mineral processing or heavy industry sectors. Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, MS Project or equivalent. Proficiency in ERP software including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Significant experience in stakeholder management and teamwork, coordinating schedule and cost activities for a portfolio of projects.  Proven experience in managing multiple projects and the ability to prioritise and complete multiple tasks.  HOW DO I APPLY?
