This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of our curriculum offerings and drive strategic projects that will shape the future of our institution.

The Project Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting the Education & Innovation portfolio, with a primary focus on delivering strategic projects aimed at curriculum renewal for our School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences undergraduate programs, as well as postgraduate programs within the Newcastle Business School. Additionally, the Project Assistant will support in developing business cases for new program proposals scheduled for delivery in 2025-2026. The role requires proactive engagement in core business activities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:

Developing comprehensive project plans, encompassing scope, objectives, tasks, resource allocations, and deliverables.
Identifying project constraints and risks, developing contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions.
Facilitating project communications to stakeholders and providing regular progress updates.
Coordinating working groups, fostering collaboration and synergy.
Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality project outcomes and reports.
Conducting post-project reviews and evaluations to extract key insights and lessons learned.
Preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence.
Identifying initiatives and making recommendations.
Actively contributing to process improvement.
Maintaining regular communication within the team and with project sponsors and working groups.
Building positive relationships with key stakeholders, including academic and professional staff within the College and broader University community.

You will inspire us with your ability to work autonomously and effectively, execute tasks and drive projects to successful completion. Additionally, we will be impressed if you are someone who actively listens, possesses strong critical thinking skills, and demonstrates an ability to solve problems effectively.
This Fixed Term position is full time at a HEW 5 Higher Education Level until June 2025 and will be based at our City Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

The remuneration for this position is $77,858 + superannuation.
