Project and Technical Officer – Infrastructure Assets Management Term Contract, Full Time – 18 months Be responsible for asset management practices and processes for the infrastructure assets across our city. You will be responsible for undertaking technical investigations, providing advice to customers, supporting asset management practices, planning and managing infrastructure projects to ensure delivery on time and on budget.
Your other key responsibilities are:
Undertake investigations and provide technical advice on transport and drainage infrastructure to internal and external customers, including customer service requests and referrals.Manage infrastructure capital works and related projects from concept to completion in accordance with Council's project management framework including preparing tender/quote documentation, managing contracts, budgets, variations, schedules, and expenditure forecasts.Assist in the development of asset management plans, setting service levels, and managing life cycle costs.Assist in the review and update of Council's engineering design standards.Assist with post-incident investigation and insurance-related investigations and recommend actions required.Travel and/or work across multiple LGA sites.Inspections out of standard work hours on mutual agreement (overtime applies).LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOU Our ideal candidate is skilled at independently resolving technical issues in infrastructure asset management, offering practical and cost-effective solutions. With strong communication skills, you have a proven ability to work with key stakeholders, addressing enquiries and resolving concerns effectively.
You bring a solid foundation in planning, designing, managing, and implementing transport and drainage infrastructure projects, and are proficient in essential infrastructure asset management software. You are knowledgeable about asset management practices, including preparing and reviewing asset management plans in line with the International Infrastructure Management Manual.
Your experience includes conducting condition and risk assessments on infrastructure assets, along with a solid understanding of project management principles. This blend of technical expertise and project management skills positions you well to effectively support and advance our infrastructure asset management initiatives.
You will bring:
Tertiary/Trade certificate qualifications, or equivalent experience and qualifications, in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering or project management.Experienced and skilled in the investigation of risks and asset management practices relating to infrastructure assets.Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with difficult customers, respond to complaints, and relay outcomes on complex, technical and emotive issues.Sound knowledge of asset management principles and practices, including asset lifecycle costs.Knowledge of estimating methods and procedures, capital works monitoring, and cost control.LET'S REVEAL THE PERKS Competitive salary from $91,571 to $106,421 a year plus industry-leading 12 percent superannuation35-hour working week on nine-day fortnight and hybrid work modelCommencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary rangeWe value your health and wellbeing and offer generous discounted gym memberships through our corporate fitness program, connect with colleagues through our social club, be inspired by regular wellbeing initiatives, annual flu vaccinations, and confidential support via our employee assistance (EAP) programAs a committed employer of choice, we support your skill development and aim to make a difference from day one.
