Your new team With the rapid growth of the A&G business, the ambitious plans for continued expansion, and combined with the increased complexity, nature and size of the business and breadth of new transformational projects in-flight, A&G is now looking to establish an Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO).
The goal of the EPMO is to play a pivotal role in overseeing all Group projects to ensure they deliver both true value and on time, and in the process establish a consistent project management infrastructure and discipline throughout the Group.
Projects range from regulatory risk uplift programs, to major technology programs, people & culture programs and to mergers and acquisitions.
The Project Performance & Quality Assurance Lead is a critical leadership role within A&G Group, working in collaboration with the EPMO Lead to support the organisation's current and future needs.
The Project Performance & Quality Assurance Lead plays a vital role in working directly with the business to understand the true progress of all projects and establish, monitor and manage all project reporting.
The role Project governance & process improvement: define, implement and continually refine project management governance frameworks across Auto & General to simplify tasks, streamline workflows, standardise, and enhance overall project management processes.Financial reporting: work with the Finance Function to define and implement financial processes for projects including budgeting and business cases (including identifying internal resource redeployment, incremental resource approvals and the use and management of external consultants) and ensure that projects are budgeted well and stay on budget once they are funded.Portfolio reporting: define and control key performance indicators and build reports that help project teams, executive teams or the Board and its committees see how well the projects or the respective project management teams are performing, and that business case benefits / value drops are being delivered.Quality Assurance: ensure there is a check and challenge occurring over what is being reported from working groups in programs as to whether there is truth in portfolio reporting and that signals are being identified as early as possible to allow rectification.Resource management: work with the Business Owners to ensure appropriate people are at the head of projects and underlying workstreams, ensure there are an optimum level of project managers, team members and commitment levels available to take on projects and resolve conflicts between business units and projects on prioritisation and effective allocation of resourcing.Risk management: prior to approving any other project being approved and throughout all project deployment, identify assess and with Business Owners manage potential dependencies, risks and implement strategic plans to mitigate them, including noting the ability of future projects impact on delivering existing projects.Stakeholder & executive communications: assist Business Owners communicate with external stakeholders (e.g.
APRA) and internal stakeholders (e.g.
Board, Group Exco) at an appropriate level to ensure stakeholders have the requisite knowledge to assess whether Auto & General is achieving goals and meeting expectations in relation to the portfolio of strategic projects, programs, business units, and initiatives.Strategic portfolio management: supervise project portfolio management and performance, overseeing project investments and objectives to ensure project prioritisation aligns with overall business goals and strategic objectives.What experience you'll bring The experience required for this role includes:
Quality Assurance Development: Proven experience in establishing quality criteria and metrics for project artefacts, setting standards for documentation, processes, and outcomes.Quality Assurance Planning: Experience in creating quality assurance plans that outline quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle, including review timelines and testing methodologies.Validation of Deliverables: Expertise in pre-vetting workstream closure deliverables to ensure they meet quality and due diligence standards before submission to independent assurance experts.Issue Identification and Resolution: Skilled in identifying quality issues, providing feedback, suggesting improvements, and working with teams to implement corrective actions.Risk Identification and Mitigation: Ability to identify potential quality risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, taking a proactive approach to prevent issues.Reporting on Quality Status: Experience in providing regular reports on the quality status of project artefacts, including highlighting concerns and tracking quality improvement progress.Continuous Improvement: Strong ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing and refining quality assurance processes within the program.Preference Experience: 4+ years in quality assurance, project management, or related roles.Skills: Strong experience in process development, issue resolution, and risk management.Industry: Familiarity with regulated industries or complex project management environments (e.g., IT, finance, engineering).Toowong Close to a variety of public transport and easy parking options, the Toowong office has excellent end of trip facilities (including secure bike storage and showers), outdoor spaces and plenty of modern collaborative areas to work and connect with colleagues.
