This role will also lead and grow the engagement of families with the centre and provide administrative support for fundraising, grants and income-generating activity.Applications close: 11:59pm WST, Friday 23rd of August 2024About the Role:Jalygurr Guwan Early Childhood Centre is seeking a motivated Project and Engagement Manager, with excellent written and communication skills to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the work of one of the Kimberley's most established Aboriginal community controlled early childhood centres.Working under the supervision of the General Manager, the Project and Engagement Manager will provide project and administration support across a range of functions, including general administration, finance, family engagement, policy and process review and development, human resourcing and fundraising including grant development.The successful applicant must be passionate about supporting and celebrating First Nations children and families.Key tasks:Manage the development and implementation of Jalygurr-Guwan's strategic priorities.Lead the research, writing and submission of project grant applications and the preparation of reports and acquittals.Review and implement policies and procedures for the Service.Conduct audits which identify gaps in policy, procedures and employment contracts.Support the General Manager with secretariat duties including the preparation of papers for director board meetings.General Administration:Contribute to teamwork and collaboration across the Centre by being responsive to administrative needs across the organization, including postage, office archives/filing, contact registers, IT requirements, and events coordination.Support the coordination of activities relating to office operations and Centre maintenance.Manage and maintain children's files, staff files and directors' files within appropriate regulations.Assist with HR including updating all forms, policies and procedures in line with current regulations.Respond to general inquiries and provide relief support within other areas of the service.Complete daily tasks relating to financial areas specific to the financial administration of a childcare Centre, including tasks relating to CCS funding requirements and compliance.Liaise with families to ensure up-to-date records and payment of fees.Documentation of financial reports and records as requested.Prepare banking and deposits.Assist with audits; liaise with Service Manager, Accountant and Auditor.Promote clear communication between management, educators and families.Be courteous and helpful to the families in the service.Assist the General Manager to look for opportunities within the service where a family may become involved (e.g., Multi-Cultural Events, craft activities, fundraising and parent committees).Be an advocate for high-quality support services for our children in our community.Provide administrative assistance to promote and oversee evaluation strategies to determine parents' communication and views for future planning.Provide families with a monthly newsletter with updated information about their children and the service.Work in a team setting and discuss and resolve complex and simple problems, using conflict resolution skills.Liaise with families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and diverse needs, demonstrating understanding and awareness of these.Use well-developed interpersonal skills to assist and support families in times of need/crisis.Grow the engagement of families with the centre service, including through the coordination of events.Develop and implement processes for formal feedback from families regarding their children's care.Support recruitment processes and the identification and implementation of processes to support the retention of centre staff.About You:We are looking for a self-motivated person who can work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment with a key range of stakeholders to develop responsive systems and processes while also completing daily tasks relating to the financial and administrative needs of the centre.
