About the Department & Role This position sits within The Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet's Corporate Service Delivery Projects section.
The Project Adviser is a key role within the Service Delivery Projects team. The team is part of the Shared Services Branch and is responsible for providing expert advice and project management to ensure the successful delivery of business improvement projects. This role involves project planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to drive project outcomes.
Key Duties Developing a sound understanding of the team's project's key objectives and deliverables.Supporting activities and deliverables for projects to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.Assisting in identifying potential project operational challenges and possible solutions.Contributing to the development of team objectives for short term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives. Preparing project status reports including performance metrics and progress.Assisting to monitor project performance, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.Developing and maintaining productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Developing and maintaining project documentation, including project plans, schedules and reports.Providing secretariat support for meetings as required, including minute-taking, scheduling of meetings, preparing and coordinating papers and reportsUndertaking records management functions to ensure records are accurate, complete and managed in accordance with departmental policy. Desirable Attributes Previous experience in project management or advisory roles, preferably within a government or similar environment.Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure.Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Proven organisational skills and attention to detail.Experience in working with government policies and procedures.Knowledge of risk management and compliance frameworks.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks concurrently.The candidate will be employed directly by the department as an APS5 or APS6 Project Adviser. This is for 12-months + possible 6-month extension. This position can also be an s26 transfer.
