Our Project Delivery team is seeking a Project Officer for a 12-month contract.
Purpose: This position is responsible to provide assistance to the IS Project Team and assist to the manage delivery of design, planning and implementation of Council's capital works programs. This position will aid with actioning departmental customer service requests, undertaking correspondence and the production of reports.
About the role: Provide general assistance to the project managers of the IS Projects unit. Undertake and assist in brief development, design and surveying duties. Assist the department with investigating and actioning departmental customer service requests, preparing correspondence and the production of reports. Various asset management, project management and financial management duties. Liaise with the community and Council's staff in relation to project construction issues and enquiries. Assist in the implementation of Council's Asset Management Strategy, including the collection of data for inclusion into Council's GIS, Asset Management and corporate systems. Undertake special projects and investigations. Prepare key information to assist the Council's Communications department in the preparation of media releases and written articles About you: Are you looking to be part of a team that ensures our community, Council and stakeholders have confidence in the projects and services we provide? The right candidate will have:
Appropriate tertiary professional qualifications, at degree level, in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent relevant industry experience in building, documentation and construction. Demonstrated experience in liaising with contractors and contract management. Class C driver's licence. Effective interpersonal, negotiating, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
