As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in long term planning for the use of environmental water to maintain and improve healthier rivers, wetlands, and floodplains across the NSW portion of the Murray Darling Basin.Would you like to work as part of a team that supports professional growth and is committed to long-term environmental outcomes for our rivers?About the roleThe NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is seeking a Programs Officer to join our Environmental Water Planning team, which contributes to managing Water for the Environment in NSW. This role involves overseeing the delivery and ongoing update and implementation of our Long-Term Water Plans (LTWPs), which guide the management of environmental water across the NSW Murray-Darling Basin.About YouYou will be responsible for project managing the review and update process of NSW LTWPs. This includes finalising the plans, preparing documents for public exhibition, managing approval processes, and ensuring the plans are published and implemented effectively, as part of an ongoing review process.You will work alongside other Water for the Environment program staff and experts in various fields including freshwater ecology, hydrology, river system modelling, on-ground environmental water management, First Nations programs, community engagement and broader water management and policy.
