Do you have a flair for events, an eye for detail, great organisation skills and a passion for education and the arts? We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team and deliver high profile programs for school students across Queensland.

The role of Program andEvents Officer is offered on a full-time temporary basis, until 01 August 2025, unless otherwise determined.

The Strategic Communication & Engagement (SCE) branch is responsible for the department's corporate communications, sponsorship and events as well as media and social media. Services provided by SCE ensures that the department has a strategic corporate communications framework and consistent approach to engaging with schools, members of the community, the media, business, and other government agencies.
About the Role As the Programs and Events Officer you will support the delivery of major programs and events for the Department. The role is responsible for delivering the components of Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage (CGEN) from concept to delivery. The role also supports the delivery of a range of programs and events throughout the year including International Women's Day. Individuals applying must have program management and events skills. Experience in and/or an understanding of education and arts programs would be advantageous.

Responsibilities include:
Assist with the delivery of programs and events including large staged arena performances, gala dinners, conferences, visual art, instrumental and choral programs, and state-wide events as required.Consult with schools, regional offices, internal and external stakeholders and liaise with project coordinators to plan and assist with the delivery of programs and events for the department.Source external suppliers and manage the associated purchasing and payment processes.Liaise with project coordinators to prepare event specific materials including briefing notes, function profiles, program schedules and event run sheets.Establish and maintain professional relationships with staff and external clients to ensure the success of the department's programs and events.Mandatory requirements: Applicants must have a valid Blue Card. After hours and weekend work is integral to the role.
