Publishing Scotland, the network, trade, and development membership body for the book publishing industry in Scotland, is seeking to recruit a full-time Programme Support Officer, based in Edinburgh.
We are looking for a Programme Support Officer to support (1) the successful delivery of our industry-focused programme activities and events including training, book fairs, networking events, the Annual Book Trade Conference, and help with (2) our website communications.
We are looking for a strong team worker – that is essential. You will need to have good planning and administration skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
As a membership organisation and a charity, we work across the arts and business in the services we offer to publishers and the wider network of authors, editors, and freelance professionals, nationally and internationally. Publishing Scotland is a company limited by guarantee and a charity, regulated by OSCR, the Scottish Charity Regulator. We are a team of six people.
Salary: circa £23-25k, depending on experience
Job Title: Programme Support Officer
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: potential for hybrid but mainly at the offices in Scott House, Central Edinburgh
Contract: permanent, full-time
Key tasks: Assist the Programme Managers with the organisation and administration of our events and engagement activities.Help maintain and write content for the company websites (www.publishingscotland and www.booksfromscotland.com, using WordPress).Provide admin support to the CEO.Office admin – dealing with our general enquiries inbox, etc.Key requirements: Good communication skills (written) including ability to communicate effectively internally and externally using good interpersonal skills.Experience of WordPress and Adobe Photoshop is an advantage.Experience of Microsoft Office applications.Organised and methodical.Knowledge of the Scottish publishing scene is an advantage.What we offer: Flexible working hours (where appropriate).Some hybrid working is possible – but the post involves being in the office at least 3.5 days, Mon-Fri, and helping in the physical environment.Benefits include: 30 days holiday pro-rata, plus public holidays.Pension scheme.How to apply for this post:
