Social Futures assists those experiencing homelessness to identify and access sustainable housing outcomes, as well as appropriate supports, education and employment opportunities. Specifically, these roles will work within an outreach location and in community, assisting people experiencing homelessness who are accessing temporary accommodation to, amongst other things, work toward sustainable housing outcomes.
Job DescriptionTo be successful, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders, service providers and participants to empower service users and develop their capacity and resources for positive change.
As a Program Worker – Accommodation Supports, you will: Promote client-centred, strength based and trauma informed practice consistent with the Social Futures Practice Framework;Provide high quality interventions and/or case management;Support participants with complex and unmet needs to access services;Complete needs and risk assessments to ensure quality service responses.These are part-time positions up to 20 hours per week, including opportunity to take on weekend shifts. If you have relevant qualifications, skills and experience working in the homelessness sector and are a passionate individual dedicated to making positive change in the community, this is the role for you.
The successful candidate will have:
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health, psychology, social work, social science or social welfare, health promotion or similarExperience providing high quality customer-centred individual and/or family therapeutic interventions and/or case managementExcellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with all people to ensure effective relationshipsDemonstrated well-developed organisational, time management and administrative skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlinesDemonstrated experience in maintaining professional boundaries while engaging in person-centred workAt Social Futures, we believe in the value of your voice, and we are dedicated to making positive changes every day.
