The role of the Program Support Officer is to provide administrative and support for youth development and leadership programs including providing advice to team members on delivery techniques and teaching strategies. Additionally, the Program Support Officer will be responsible for sourcing programs and coordinating events relevant to the needs of the centre.
This role works closely with and supports the Coordinator, Developmental Sport & Recreation in the delivery of programs,reporting and evaluation of programs and events.
The Program Support Officer key responsibilities are: • Provide support to assist in the effective management, coordination, and maintenance of project review and reporting mechanisms assisting in the analysis of data to monitor the effectiveness of projects, programs, and service delivery.
• Maintain strong working relationships with appropriate departmental staff and community stakeholders, across the state to ensure input into the planning, implementation and review of local and departmental programs and initiatives.
• Use knowledge and experience to identify how young people learn and tailor programs to suit their individual needs.
• Provide advice to program delivery staff on delivery techniques, teaching and learning strategies.
• Source programs and organise events including research and development of proposals.
• Schedule programs and events with consideration to organisational logistics, access to resources and safety and security requirements.
• Maintain complete and up to date program and participant data on organisational and departmental platforms and systems in addition to providing regular and adhoc analysis and reporting.
• Contribute to the provision of high-quality written reports, briefs, and correspondence.
• Provide high quality advice to government and non-government stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of government policy and program options to meet the diverse needs of young people.
• Contribute as a team member to the operations of the work unit including business unit planning.
