Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation supporting premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.
Every year in Australia around 48,000 newborn babies require the help of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN).
27,000 of these babies are premature and up to 1,000 babies lose their fight for life.
Our Vision is to provide Better, Healthier Outcomes for all newborns and their families challenged by prematurity and sickness.
The NurtureProgram Support Officer is aligned with our purpose and passionate about supporting all lives impacted by a premature or sick birth.
The role will focus on the delivery of Miracle Babies Foundation NurtureProgram family support services, namely NurtureLine, NurtureTime and NurtureGroup.
This role will work closely with the CEO and NurtureProgram staff and volunteers, establishing quality services in hospital and community providing peer emotional support to families with a premature or sick baby.
This person will have outstanding people and relationship building capabilities, be organised, able to work to timelines and both autonomously and in a team.
Compassion, empathy and a supportive nature is vital and as part of our NurtureProgram team criteria, this person must have had a direct neonatal experience with a premature or sick baby.
ESSENTIAL: Must have had a baby who has been an inpatient in a NICU or Special Care Nursery (SCN) (please indicate on your application) Display compassion and empathy to support families at a vulnerable and traumatic time Align with purpose and values Ability to provide quality services for families in a neonatal unit and community Ability to build confidence and collaborative relationships at every level across a broad range of stakeholders Understanding of policies and processes with hospital systems and internally Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive interpersonal attitude whilst working to timelines This role is a full-time role - 38 hours per week
Location: Head Office – Moorebank
