About The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Program Strategy Officer to join our team.
In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategic risk awareness and community preparedness programs.
Your work will ensure these initiatives align with NSW Government objectives and meet the needs of our diverse communities.
As a Program Strategy Officer, You WillSupport the Development and Delivery: Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and execute risk awareness and community preparedness strategies that align with government objectives and address community needs.Build Relationships: Forge and maintain strong connections with stakeholders including government agencies, councils, community groups, NGOs, the private sector, and academia to gather insights and support effective program delivery.Drive Awareness and Behavior Change: Develop objectives and strategies to enhance communication, engagement, and behavior change, ensuring practical approaches to disaster preparedness for all community members.Facilitate Local Planning: Conduct structured local preparedness analyses and planning processes using best practices, data, and local knowledge.Provide Governance Support: Offer strategic secretariat support to governance forums, preparing agendas, reports, and presentations to facilitate collaborative decision-making and keep stakeholders engaged.Program Development and Evaluation: Plan and manage programs, setting clear outcomes, KPIs, and tracking mechanisms.
Monitor progress, gather feedback, and implement continuous improvements using disaster risk reduction and preparedness frameworks.Translate Best Practices: Stay updated with contemporary best practices and synthesize research into practical resources and tools for internal and external stakeholders.Foster Team Excellence: Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team, setting performance standards and deadlines in line with established frameworks.About YouYou are a proactive and skilled professional with a strong foundation in disaster preparedness and community development.
Your background and experience will allow you to effectively support strategic programs and build meaningful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
To Excel In This Role, You Will BringCultural Awareness: Understanding of diverse cultural nuances, communication styles, and customs.Disaster Preparedness Knowledge: A solid foundation in risk assessment methodologies, emergency management arrangements, and community resilience frameworks.Project Management Experience: Proven experience in planning, organizing, and implementing projects, as well as coordinating advisory or governance groups.Community Development Insight: Familiarity with community development principles, local community dynamics, and best practices.Relevant Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in project management, change management, or communications, particularly in developing and implementing awareness, engagement, or behavior change strategies and programs.Essential RequirementsRelevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in project management, change management, or communications, in order to develop, drive and implement awareness, engagement, or behaviour change strategies and programs.About The AgencyThe NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government.
When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
