About the Opportunity The Program Specialist in the StartSpace team plays an important role in shaping the learning experiences and opportunities available to StartSpace members, early-stage business and startup founders. The Program Specialist works together with the larger StartSpace team to design and deliver entrepreneurial programs, events, and workshops, with a focus on helping members learn business and digital skills.
The Program Specialist is responsible for planning and executing events and programs aligned with funding requirements and member needs and ensuring the success of these key programs. Whilst the Future Founders Program is one of the Program Specialist's key areas of focus, they also are responsible for a variety of other programs and events in StartSpace. The Program Specialist manages external stakeholder relationships for StartSpace, relating to engagement of stakeholders for speaking engagements at StartSpace programs and events, and to otherwise foster the relationship, drawing on network knowledge and expertise into StartSpace activities.
About You The ideal candidate is well versed and comfortable with establishing and fostering working relationships and connections with key stakeholders in the sector, well as identify and connect with supporting organisations and communities for purpose of curating programs.
In addition, you will come to us with:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. business, entrepreneurship, Event Management, Communications etc.) or equivalent industry experience. Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering programs from end-to-end, related to business, start-ups, entrepreneurship or similar area. Experience planning and setting up small- and large-scale events associated with the delivery of a program or project, such as conferences, panel discussions, and networking events. An excellent track record of enabling collaboration and resource sharing by establishing sector networks and contacts. Demonstrated experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including leading a small project team to deliver events and projects. Demonstrated experience in managing and negotiating contract terms and agreements with external stakeholders. Previous experience working with start-up and/or new business founders, preferably in the area of digital or tech-enabled business is desirable. Demonstrated experience working with minority or community groups is desirable State Library Victoria is a child-safe organisation.
