Details of the offer

Working closely with other Program Officers and senior leaders in the Contract Management Team, you will be responsible for a range of activities in relation to the management of Skills Assure Suppliers (SAS), including product and policy advice within the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

The Contract Management Team is responsible for the management of SAS agreements including assisting and educating SAS in meeting their obligations under the agreement and Queensland Government funded training programs. The team also conducts a range of assurance activities to monitor SAS performance and compliance.

About The Role

As the Program Officer, you will

Manage the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of complex program management activities including research, data analysis, performance reviews and risk management.
Provide high quality and well researched advice, interpretation and feedback to senior managers, peers or colleagues and deliver educational activities to stakeholders on policies, guidelines, and procedures in order to monitor and implement targeted VET initiatives.
Manage performance review outcomes and implement necessary program and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of Investment Division objectives and monitor stakeholder performance to ensure the achievement of agreed outcomes.
Develop and maintain a network of positive working relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders within and across business and government at all levels to achieve project outcomes and deliver on government commitments.
Prepare and/or review complex reports, submissions and briefings regarding performance measures, benchmarking, and risk assessments.
Support the functions of the Contract Management Team and provide assistance with induction and mentoring of new team members to ensure a smooth integration into the business unit.

What We Are Looking For

The position requires an applicant who can:

Apply a project management approach to the timely and effective development, delivery and review of government vocational education and training programs and strategies.
Demonstrate problem-solving, research and analytical skills and actively contribute to a culture of innovation within the division by identifying and implementing quality improvements in business processes, services and systems.
Coordinate multiple tasks within agreed priorities and timeframes and contribute to operational and financial management of the branch's strategies and programs.
Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders through liaison, partnership and negotiation, with the ability to resolve conflict and increase awareness of the vet system by prioritising new initiatives and programs.
Demonstrate high level communication skills to produce clear, concise and accurate ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, reports and advice to senior stakeholders.
