About Us The Australian-American Fulbright Commission is a non-profit organisation sponsored by the United States and Australian governments and other institutional and business partners, private bequests, and endowments.
The program awards scholarships annually to post-graduate students and researchers to complete an international exchange program. It is designed to foster binational academic and research collaboration, cultural and idea exchange, and mutual understanding. Since its inception, more than 5,500 Australians and Americans have received scholarships to study in one another's country.

About the Role The Australian-American Fulbright Commission is seeking a Program Officer to join a small, dynamic team that is collectively responsible for managing the Fulbright Program in Australia.
Program Officers are responsible for administering the program for applicants and awardees. This includes responding to potential applicants, administering the selection, organising orientation activities, promoting and marketing awards, administering awardee visas and travel, and building and maintaining positive, supportive relationships with awardees. Program Officers are also required to support the Program Manager with reporting, stakeholder engagement and management, and reviewing and improving internal processes.
Part Time arrangements are also considered for this position.
About You We are seeking applications from proactive, professional, and collaborative individuals with keen attention to detail.
Program Officers should have excellent organisational and communication skills, take initiative, and enjoy working in a busy and ever-changing environment. Candidates may have a variety of professional experience, but they could also be recent university graduates who are interested in educational and cultural exchange, not for profits, and the higher education sector.
The Commission places priority on a positive and warm working culture, and the successful applicant will join a diligent and supportive team.

Requirements Permanent unrestricted working rights in Australia.
A university degree (or in the final year of completion with relevant experience).
Relevant experience or industry knowledge.
Ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
A sound understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite.

We also offer an employee wellness program and opportunities for professional development. The Commission has spacious offices in Deakin and operates on a 4 ½ day work week of 38 hours.
