Details: The Education Directorate is established with a collaborative purpose to achieve the ACT Government's priorities and to serve the community through the delivery of public-school education, regulation of early childhood education and care services, registration of non-government schools, and home education.
The Deputy Director-General leads ACT public schools and holds responsibility for the delivery of education services through student centered learning and teaching initiatives, digital strategy and direction, and the Safe at Schools Taskforce. The Deputy Director-General holds accountability for school operations, teaching and learning practices, student outcomes, and the safety and wellbeing of students and staff at schools. Support services are provided in the areas of curriculum delivery, early childhood education and pedagogy, digital strategy, health, student inclusion and wellbeing, vocational education and training (VET), pathways and transitions, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, international education, complex case management, and flexible education.
About the Role
The Program Manager is part of the DDG Office and will be responsible for the oversight, coordination and management of a range of programs and projects across the DDG portfolio. One of the key responsibilities of the role is management of the operations of the DDG Office including oversight of the DDG diary, email inbox, and engagement across the organisation to progress a range of government business requirements. As Program Manager, you will work closely with the DDG and relevant Executive Group Managers to support strong organisational governance practices. This includes oversight of DDG Group procurement activities. You will be supported in the role by the Executive Officer and the Executive Support Officer.
What we are Looking For
We are looking for a governance, program management and executive support professional with outstanding organisational capabilities that can work within a fast-paced environment of constantly changing priorities. The successful candidate will have well-development stakeholder management capabilities and be able to engage with staff at all levels across the Directorate, across ACT Government, and externally. You will have the ability to manage multiple projects and streams of work at the same time and the confidence to manage ongoing reporting on project status. Importantly, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to understand the complexities of a diverse senior executive portfolio, including the ability to anticipate the needs of the Deputy Director-General.
