The Technology Transformation team is responsible for delivering a range of data and analytics projects, ranging from the delivery of new capabilities for Group Data and our business partners, to the delivery of compliance programs.
You will be integral to helping Group Data achieve its vision by playing a key role in the delivery of analytics and business intelligence Programs for Westpac.
We are seeking a highly experienced Program Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of a Data Transformation component within the Customer Mastering Initiative.
The ideal candidate will manage cross-functional teams and work closely with senior leadership to ensure the successful execution of data migration, integration, and transformation initiatives.
This role is crucial for advancing our objectives towards a single Group Customer Master.
Your key responsibilities include:
Program Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of Program Workstream, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain the program workstream roadmap, defining milestones and success metrics to ensure seamless program execution.Stakeholder Management: Engage with executive sponsors, business stakeholders, and technical teams to gather requirements, communicate progress, and manage expectations.Team Coordination and Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data architects, analysts, and third-party vendors, to ensure collaboration and timely delivery.Budget & Resource Management: Oversee the program budget, resources, and staffing needs, ensuring financial goals and resourcing requirements are met.Risk Management: Identify potential risks, dependencies, and issues that could impact the program, and implement mitigation strategies.Change Management: Collaborate with the change team to develop robust change management practices to ensure organizational adoption of new and changed data / business processes and systems.Reporting: Provide regular program status updates to senior leadership, highlighting key achievements, risks, and opportunities.Data Governance: Work with the data governance team to ensure that data transformation adheres to data privacy, security, and compliance requirements.Support, coach, and mentor the team where required.In all the above, act as the ambassador for our business stakeholders to understand the business objectives and lead with the business outcome at the core of the change. What do I need?
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, experience, education and/or expertise:
Essential:
Experience: Demonstrated experience managing large-scale data transformation or IT programs, ideally within a complex organizational structure.Data Expertise: Understanding of data architectures, cloud platforms, data migration, data lakes, and data warehousing.Project Management: Strong background in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies, with PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with data integration tools, ETL processes, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data governance frameworks.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.Change Management: Experience managing organizational change in relation to new data processes or systems.
Desirable:
Experience within the Financial IndustryBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data governance platforms. What's it like to work there?
