About the job As the Program Manager Biodiverse Carbon, you will oversee the development of multiple ecosystem restoration programs – registered for carbon abatement through the Clean Energy Regulator, and a key initiative aligned to Our Strategy 2020-25 including Net Zero Emissions by 2030.
This leadership role will be managing a diverse mix of suppliers, contractors, federal and state regulators, community representatives as well as multiple business units across SA Water.
The role will lead and manage the design and establishment of the 'Rewilding Reservoirs' program, guide the complex technical inputs, and forge new capabilities within the organisation to realise benefits.
This will include managing a diverse number of internal, external and public-facing relationships to ensure successful program delivery.
This impactful leadership role will drive exemplary environmental and social outcomes, addressing climate change through carbon sequestration, re-creating functional ecosystems and conserving biodiversity, helping to preserve South Australia's unique landscapes.
Your responsibilities for this opportunity Lead the development and delivery of SA Water's biodiverse carbon planting program. Create strategies to manage risks and opportunities in ecosystem restoration and carbon accounting. Guide the monitoring and evaluation of social, environmental, and financial outcomes. Oversee expert revegetation, restoration, and vegetation management services aligned with Strategy 2020-25. Implement effective program management, including planning, scheduling, and reporting. Register biodiverse carbon planting projects with the Clean Energy Regulator, ensuring high standards. Oversee monitoring, auditing, and reporting to ensure compliance with federal obligations. Your success in this role will come from: Tertiary qualification in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Ecology, Ecosystem Restoration, or a related field. Proven experience in program management, delivering excellent outcomes with cross-functional teams. Understanding of carbon principles and accounting frameworks. Knowledge of effective ecosystem restoration and revegetation techniques. A current Australian driver's license. To apply, click 'Apply'.
