We care | We build trust | Better together | Open minds | We serve to make a difference Are you passionate about marine conservation and environmental policy? We are seeking talented individuals for two critical roles within the DWER Steering Committee Cockburn Sound (SCCS):
Level 7 Program Manager – As a Program Manager, you will coordinate and facilitate the delivery of SCCS outcomes, working closely with committee members, consultants, technical experts, and key stakeholders. Your key tasks will include:
Developing and managing program plans to achieve SCCS objectives.Providing expert policy advice on marine-based environmental matters.Managing external contracts to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.Coordinating SCCS meetings and offering executive and administrative support.Supervising staff, consultants, and resources to meet SCCS outcomes.Communicating effectively with the Minister, government departments, and other stakeholders.Preparing essential correspondence, briefing notes, and reports.Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.Level 6 Senior Policy Officer - In this role, you will support the SCCS by leading the review of the State Environment (Cockburn Sound) Policy and undertaking complex strategy and policy assignments. Your key tasks will include:
Contributing to the development and implementation of marine and environmental strategies and guidelines.Conducting research, creating, implementing, and evaluating policies.Advising the Minister, the Department, and other stakeholders.Maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Liaising with government agencies to gather information and facilitate policy changes.Preparing correspondence, briefing notes, and reports.These are both full-time, fixed-term opportunities until 30 June 2027 with a possibility of extension and/or permanency. This pool will operate for a period of 12 months and may be used to fill similar vacancies that arise within DWER and across the WA public sector. Opportunities can be offered at part or full time on a permanent or fixed-term contract basis with the possibility of extension or permanency.
