About the OpportunityBased in Henderson, Western Australia you will be reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer for Multi Class Sustainment (MCS), and responsible for the successful delivery of our nuclear-powered submarine program, and AUKUS programs including the establishment of nuclear sustainment readiness in Australia.
ResponsibilitiesCritical in planning and delivering ASCs sustainment work for nuclear powered submarines.Support the delivery of SSN sustainment in accordance with US/UK standards and prepare ASC for accreditation of sovereign SSN sustainment capabilities.Identify and plan future workforce and facility requirements, facilitate training and development exchanges, and leverage international expertise to prepare the Program roadmap.Support the establishment of Australia's SSN supply chain (including AIC consideration). This will include developing and subsequently implementing a supply chain roadmap.Support a small team of direct reports.About YouTertiary qualification in engineering, business, management (advanced degree preferred).Qualification in nuclear engineering, or similar.Minimum 15 - 20 years' experience in a senior project management/planning role, preferably in defence/shipbuilding sector, with a focus on submarine sustainment.Experience in a nuclear field – specifically in build of nuclear submarines (minimum 10 years).Experience within maritime design, build and sustainment process.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a Transfer of Technology Program.Proficiency in building credibility and influencing external and/or international stakeholders (including government).Demonstrated ability to plan and execute large scale projects in the ship building industry.Demonstrated ability to identify and implement interventions and high-quality solutions to complex problems.Demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams in complex environments.Demonstrated ability to prioritise limited resources and make effective trade off decisions.EligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
