Program Director (Information & Communications Technology)Canterbury Institute of Management (CIM) is seeking to employ a Program Director in Information & Communications Technology.
Brief Description of Role The Program Director provides professional management of all course work in their discipline delivered at the Institute.
The Program Director reports to and supports the Dean in ensuring high quality teaching and learning outcomes with a focus on continuing improvement.
The Program Director is a member of the Executive Management Team as well as the Course & Industry Advisory Committee, and the Teaching & Learning Committee.
Responsibilities Contribute to the recruitment and management of academic staff.Contribute to academic induction and student orientation each term of study.Deliver courses in the undergraduate/graduate programs as required.Contribute to the structured professional development of academic and other staff.Assess and advise on student applications for advanced standing.Oversee and report on student assessment and the internal and external moderation of assessment.Contribute to regular external benchmarking.Manage the annual review of coursework in line with the Planning and Review Policy and any other related policy documents.Monitor CIM Learning Management System (Moodle) for each course ensuring that students have timely access to all learning resources.Ensure that academic staff have access to required learning and teaching resources.Contribute to the development of timetables for each semester in consultation with academic staff.Liaise with academic staff in ensuring student progress including monitoring attendance records.Manage allegations of academic misconduct and maintain appropriate records in accordance with the Academic Integrity & Honesty Policy.Organise examination papers for relevant courses.Ensure accurate records of student results and grades for each semester and prepare semester assessment reports.Oversee and report on student satisfaction surveys and staff satisfaction surveys for each term of study.Provide course specific advice to students as required ensuring academic progression and eligibility for graduation.Ensure prescribed and recommended texts per course are available to students and staff prior to commencement of semester.Compile regular reports on assessment, course review and moderation for the Teaching & Learning Committee, Course & Industry Advisory Committee as well as the Campus Director & Dean.Comply with CIM policies.Other duties as required by the Dean.Minimum Requirements Comprehensive experience and strong achievement in higher education teaching.Record of scholarly activity demonstrated through research, publication, professional association membership and professional development.Experience in managing academic staff and ability to work collaboratively.Demonstrable commitment to academic scholarship and professional development.Equal Opportunity, Diversity and Inclusion CIM is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a workplace free from all forms of unlawful discrimination, harassment, bullying, vilification and victimisation.
