The Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity (AFSE) is an Indigenous-led social change fellowship program established at The University of Melbourne in 2016 and funded by the Atlantic Philanthropies. Informed by Indigenous perspectives and grounded in Indigenous community engagement, the program is designed to support social change leaders and collaborative leadership in Australia, Aotearoa and the Pacific region.
The Program Director will provide academic leadership and direction in curriculum development and the broader Fellowship program, ensuring it is contemporary and meets the needs of all stakeholders. They will be responsible for the collaborative design and delivery of curricular and co-curricular programming. The position requires academic expertise in the development of academic programs, and the successful applicant should be regarded as an outstanding teaching scholar capable of supporting collaborative research programs with the AFSE Fellows and Partners.
Reporting to the Executive Director and with responsibilities of Deputy Director of AFSE, the appointee will be a key member of the leadership team, working collaboratively to operationalise the strategic plan, oversee program delivery and evaluation, and ensure effective partner engagement, communications and reporting. The Program Director will also support Fellows through these graduate courses, providing academic advice and candidature management support. Finally, the Program Director will lead and maintain strong relationships across the University as well as the broader network of Atlantic Fellowship programs.
