Our team
The newly created role of Program Delivery Officer will provide support and contribute to the management of our programs with the Digital Earth Branch's Value Management Office (VMO), which is a newly formed Directorate within the Digital Earth Branch.
The role
You will lead the Digital Earth Value Management Office, building on the work of the previous Program Management Office, and the Engagement and Innovation Directorate. You will bring together a team to help coordinate and streamline decision making, communication, strategy and engagement processes, and develop systems to measure the impact of the work of the Digital Earth programs.
In this role you will:
Establish collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders to support projects. Provide program administrative support and monitoring. Provide procurement and contract management support. Prepare a range of written materials, including briefings, correspondence, reviews and reports, presentations, and minutes. Provide policy advice to project teams, monitoring financial milestones throughout the project where required. Monitor documentation, maintaining a well-developed understanding of procurement to provide advice to the Director and Manager. Assist new staff and demonstrate flexible cooperative work practices within a small team environment. Promote, by personal example and other appropriate means, the APS values, the APS Employment Principles and behave in a manner consistent with the Code of Conduct. To be successful in the role you will:
Have high-level organisational, contractual, financial, and administrative skills. Ability to achieve results by prioritising and managing competing tasks. Provide high-quality service to clients. Investigate, understand and interpret information from a range of sources. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including well-developed interpersonal, liaison and negotiation skills. Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications
• 3+ years of experience with program and/or project support roles.
• Experience with working within innovative technology and science streams.
• Relevant Program and/or Project management certifications, specifically Prince2, SAFe or Scrum are highly desirable.
