This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025
Hedland Senior High School (SHS), located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public-School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12.

The Program Coordinator – HALT, in collaboration with the senior leadership team will be responsible for improving learning outcomes through quality curriculum, through Teaching for Impact, including the incorporation of literacy, numeracy, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities and incorporating the use of data to inform practice and improve outcomes for our students.
A fundamental aspect of this role will be to support the development of innovative classroom practices and provide leadership to academic staff in providing integrated, differentiated, personalised, authentic and relevant learning experiences for students.

Under the leadership of the executive team, the suitable applicant will lead the development of the Hedland Instructional Model and Orderly Learning Environment ("Our Way"), and use established and agreed improvement strategies to implement effective Quality Teaching and Learning practices across all Learning Areas.

The Program Coordinator - HALT contributes to the development of the school plan through participative decision making, including assisting in developing policy and establishing and maintaining systems.

Additionally, the role will require:
classroom teaching – up to 0.6FTE instructional leadership ongoing review and support of "Our Way" development, promotion and collaborative maintenance of the Hedland Senior High School Teaching and Learning Handbook mentoring new and experienced staff delivering professional learning providing feedback to assist teacher proficiency expectations driving a culture of lifelong professional learning and high expectations in-class coaching and observations The Ideal Applicant
The successful applicant will possess an outstanding ability to show innovative, bold and creative solutions and a proven track record in working collaboratively to solve complex problems to ensure year on year improvements in student achievement.

The successful applicant will ideally have highly developed interpersonal skills, leadership, diplomacy, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
They will ideally possess the ability to lead professional learning with inspiring, engaging, and positive messaging, influencing staff to adopt new and improved practices.

You should be an excellent classroom practitioner and experienced mentor and coach, who is driven to support early-phase and experienced teachers to unpack the Teaching for Impact component of the Quality Teaching Strategy.

The successful applicant will ideally be a highly organised practitioner with exceptional collaborative skills who utilises their cultural proficiency to engage with internal and external stakeholders productively and authentically to meet the needs of all students.
