Boxing has been a key activity at PCYC since it began as the Police Boys Club back in 1941. Carnarvon PCYC is thrilled to launch our Boxing and Fitness Program and we are looking for a Program Coordinator, experienced in working with at-risk youth to join our team and pave the way for our exciting new program. The successful candidate will also be provided an opportunity to receive a Certificate III in Fitness.
About the Role:
The Youth Program Coordinator, Boxing and Fitness is crucial in the delivery and implementation of the program. Reporting to the Centre Manager, key responsibilities include:
Leading the delivery and evaluation of the Boxing and Fitness program in line with PCYC strategic directions.Developing safe and effective programs and activities for young people, utilizing a strengths-based, person-centered and trauma-aware practice.Providing leadership and direction to the youth services staff and volunteers.Representing PCYC within the local community and developing stakeholder relationships.Ensuring the overall delivery and performance of Boxing and Fitness including governance, risk management, financial management and compliance. About you: A qualification in Youth/Community work (Diploma or above is highly desirable) or related area such as social work, psychology, behavioural science and/or equivalent experience.Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering and evaluating youth programs with young people from diverse backgrounds.Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and a good understanding of the issues facing First Nations people.Passionate about re-engaging young people through building positive professional relationships and utilizing a strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-aware, solutions-focused approach.Ability to practice to the standards of WA Youth Work Code of Ethics.
