PROGRAM ASSISTANT – EAST MALVERN Part Time-Ongoing position - East Malvern location Excellent team environment Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging Benefits mecwacare are seeking an experienced Program Assistant to deliver the full range of client centered services to ensure a healthy and safe environment for our clients in our Malvern East centre.  Program Assistants are responsible for the provision of quality, flexible centre-based and community-based day activities for people who are frail, aged or have a disability. The role alternates across groups from time to time.
 
What you bring: Available 36 hours per week  Sound and proven experience working with people with disabilities and aging individuals from diverse backgrounds. Experience working with people with behaviours of concern and developing strategies to gain best outcomes for all. An ability to write plans for programs and activities and work within budgets. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with clients, families and the community sector. An understanding or desire to learn the principles of person-centred planning and experience in transforming plans into actions. Knowledge and experience aged/disability sector Understanding of Disability Act 2006 and Quality Framework for Disability Services. Basic computer skills. Current First Aid level 2. Qualification in aged care or Disability Full Victorian Driver's Licence. NDIS screening check clearance + Orientation Module Preparedness to drive a 10-seater bus. Desirable: Experience in working within the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) framework and delivering person-centred outcomes. HLTFS207C 'Follow Basic Food Safety Practices'.
