The Professor of Journalism will be responsible for leading the Journalism program in the School of Communication with a view to shaping the program's aims and objectives within the context of an ambitious University that values creative practices and production, social benefit, meaningful diversity, and industry relevance. The Professor of Journalism will provide scholarly leadership in overseeing curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in creating an environment for research excellence, and in representing the Discipline both nationally and internationally.The Professor of Journalism will possess national and/or international standing in the industry, will have led significant teams in Higher Education or in Editorial contexts, will have a strong research and impact track record, and will be an established or emerging leader in Journalism education.
