This role is crucial in enhancing UQ's already stellar global reputation in sport-related education, where we are ranked second globally, especially in light of the upcoming 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. The successful candidate will contribute to the establishment of a Paralympic Centre of Excellence on campus and engage actively with government and industry to optimise UQ's impact during this landmark event.The incumbent will provide exceptional leadership in teaching and research, fostering a collaborative educational environment while maintaining high academic standards. Responsibilities include delivering innovative curriculum design, supervising Higher Degree by Research students, and driving significant research initiatives that yield international recognition. The Professor will also cultivate relationships with industry and community stakeholders, enhancing UQ's standing as a leader in the field of physiotherapy. Candidates must hold a PhD in physiotherapy or a related field. The successful applicant will demonstrate a sustained record of excellence in teaching and research, with international recognition in their area of expertise and a strong publication record in reputable refereed journals.The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading strategic research agendas and teams, successfully securing significant external research funding. A track record of high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, along with experience in course coordination and curriculum innovation, is essential. Additionally, candidates should have a strong history of supervising Honours and Higher Degree Research students to successful completion and hold meaningful leadership roles within academic and professional contexts.
