About the team: The Professional Practice and Intake team provides professional leadership and promotes a culture of practice excellence for multidisciplinary teams supporting schools in regional networks to implement best practice wellbeing and inclusion approaches and improve learning outcomes for students with diverse needs. This team is responsible for the management of approaches, programs, resources and training available to schools and supporting service request/referral intake processes through assessment and triage functions.
About the role: Professional Practice Leaders provide leadership to practitioners and schools to improve wellbeing and inclusion practices through whole of school and targeted approaches. Practice Leaders drive a culture of practice excellence across multidisciplinary teams and carry a small caseload when required. Practice Leaders provide practice leadership and expert advice to Positive Behaviour Implementation Coach and Inclusion Advisors (who may have psychologist, occupational therapist, social work and speech pathology backgrounds). This role is also responsible for supporting service request/referral intake processes through provision of assessment and triage functions and staff training related to intake processes.
To be successful in the Practice Leader Access and Participation position, you will need a degree in social work, psychology, occupational therapy or speech pathology, and registration with relevant professional association or ability to obtain (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)).

The applicant must hold or be able to obtain a Working with Children Notice Clearance and an NT driver's licence. Visits to remote schools may necessitate travel by four wheel drive vehicle on unsealed roads or light aircraft and include overnight stays in remote communities of up to four days. Four wheel drive training will be provided by the NT Department of Education.
