Associates or Senior Associates - Defendant Professional Indemnity Positions (Financial Lines)
Are you experienced in Defendant General Insurance Law and want to work in a top firm? This is your opportunity.
This team works on litigated claims for a number of major insurers, corporates and significant clients in a wide variety of industries. Sitting on the legal panels of three of Australia's top four general insurers, as well as a number of other local and international insurers.
If you are:
An admitted lawyer in QLD with an absolute minimum of 3 years experience in General Insurance and think you have what it takes to:
Manage client interaction and case theories;
Work with a National team of lawyers and for those at Senior Associate level, you will be required to mentor junior team members;
Review documents and prepare best evidence in line with case theory;
Draft various forms of correspondence to the Court and third parties and clients;
Attend conferencing with witnesses and prepare witness statements;
Prepare briefs for counsel;
Work with Counsel from time to time;
Attend Court and mentor juniors to do the same;
Provide instructions to experts.

About the Role:
This firm allows you to specialise in Defendant Insurance work (Financial Lines), focusing on building genuine relationships with insurers and delivering sensible commercial results. This litigation role will require you to have day-to-day management of files, run court proceedings, work well in a team, and have a strong interest and background in insurance law. About you:
Unrestricted Work Rights and ability to work in Australia;
Admission as a lawyer is essential with a current practicing certificate!
A desire to specialise in Defendant Insurance Litigation Work;
Excellent relationship-building skills with insurers;
A natural commercial mindset to navigate and resolve disputes with commercial acumen and litigious excellence;
Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines;
Ability to mentor in a positive manner!
