At Provectus, we are on a mission to revolutionise sustainable agriculture by using Precision Photosynthesis to accelerate nature in a proprietary biomanufacturing platform. Our focus is on producing Asparagopsis seaweed, which is used in performance feed additives that significantly reduce methane emissions in livestock and improve on-farm yields.
Headquartered in Noosa, Australia, our team has built a scalable and sustainable product development and biomanufacturing platform. We are now rapidly scaling operations to meet the increasing demand for our methane-reducing feed additive, Surf'N'Turf, in global markets. This additive has the potential to reduce methane emissions by up to 95% in ruminants, contributing to a more sustainable future for agriculture.
We're seeking an exceptional Aquaculture Technician with experience in seaweed cultivation or aquaculture production systems, specifically in large-scale operations. This role will focus on the production of Asparagopsis as a key input for our Surf'N'Turf product. You will work with a highly motivated team under the guidance of the Production Lead, collaborating closely with scientists, engineers, and automation teams to help scale production.
What is important to us? We are committed to achieving our mission and making a real impact by reducing gigaton-scale emissions from agriculture. The values that guide us in our work are:
Pioneers: Embrace curiosity and innovation. Collaborate: Be transparent, honest, and open to feedback. Decisive: Make bold, data-driven decisions. Accountable: Own your work and results. Fun: Create a workplace where people enjoy their work. What does this role look like? Maintain and scale up production cultures from lab-scale to full production in manual, semi-automated, and automated systems. Operate closed-system bioreactors in compliance with internal protocols and other regulatory standards. Undertake Down Stream Processing activities and package the final product. Contribute to the ongoing development and optimisation of the Asparagopsis production process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation technologies and improve production efficiency. Maintain precise and accurate records to support data-driven improvements. Maintain plant equipment and adhere to strict cleaning and maintenance protocols. What would you bring to this role? A degree in aquaculture, bioprocessing, or related fields is preferred but not essential. Experience in scaling up marine cultivation or large-scale biomanufacturing. What do we value as essential? A team-oriented environment with a focus on work-life balance. The opportunity to contribute to meaningful, cutting-edge work in sustainable agriculture. A diverse and inclusive workplace, with a commitment to continuous learning and innovation. Competitive salary packages aligned with talent and experience. Closing 15th November 2024. This role will be assessed on an ongoing basis and may be filled before the closing date. We encourage you to apply early.
