Job DescriptionThe Role: The role of the Production Team Lead is to oversee the duties of the production team, provide accurate business information, and ensure compliance to the Quality, OH&S, Environment and Inventory management procedures.
The role will lead from the front and foster a strong culture and positive work ethic as an example for all employees to follow.
Tasks: Ensure all employees under your control are always suitably attired and fit for duties before the commencement of work.Chair pre-start meetings and assign tasks to individuals.
Supervise workforce and define team objectives.Assure the consistent quality of production and notify Production Manager & Quality Coordinator of any defective product.Order or advise when raw material stocks fall below minimum stock levels.File and maintain source documents as required.Ensure Quality Assurance documentation is completed and maintained in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS) manual requirements.Operate, set up, and adjust all production machinery in the plant.Ensure safe operation of all production lifting equipment by yourself and others on the shift.Assist in the provision of training to your skill set or in conjunction with other employees, supervisors/trainers.Complete weekly cycle counts of products and report numbers back to the production manager.Participate in monthly stock takes when required.Report or correct required adjustments to production equipment.Ensure safe and accurate lubrication methods of production equipment.Actively assist in fault finding of process faults.Co-ordinate production scheduling with production manager and sales team.Oversee production staff regarding their roles and responsibilities in quality, safety & environment.Embrace a sense of area ownership.Desired Skills and Requirements: Self-starter and ability to work with routine supervision.High work ethic, practical, action-oriented person.Ability to operate a forklift (preferable).Ability to interact with all levels of staff, management, and external contacts.Zero tolerance to workplace bullying and discrimination.Competency to operate an overhead gantry crane (preferable).Must hold valid working rights in Australia and provide proof/identification if required/requested.
