We are looking for a Production Supervisor based in Carrum Downs VIC 3201. You will be working for a global manufacturer of progressing cavity pumps and pump parts. They have a wide product range suitable for the pumping of fluids within the waste water, chemical, food, beverage, paper, mining, mineral processing, marine, agricultural and oil and gas sectors.
JOB SUMMARY The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimising the production process to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time. This role involves managing production operations, leading a team, maintaining safety and compliance, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure all products meet established quality standards and specifications through regular inspections and testing.Develop and maintain quality control procedures in collaboration with the quality assurance team.Identify and resolve quality issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed.Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety training.Perform regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any hazards or non-compliance issues.Investigate accidents or incidents, report findings, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.Oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and production goals.Develop and maintain production schedules, adjusting as necessary to meet demand and minimize downtime.Track and evaluate production performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.Manage and motivate a team of production workers, providing training and development opportunities.Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans.Promote a positive and collaborative work environment, addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.Introduce lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity.Work with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure equipment is functioning optimally and to implement technical improvements.Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.Monitor and manage production costs, striving to reduce waste and improve cost-efficiency.Generate regular reports on production performance, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.Maintain documentation to comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.Provide updates and reports to senior management, recommending strategies for improvement.Ensure all production activities comply with industry regulations, standards, and company policies. Personal Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Experience working with industrial pumps or a technical background in a similar field is essential.Proven experience in managing teams of 10 or more individuals.People-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.Engineering expertise is not essential but would be highly advantageous.
