BMA is part of the world's largest diversified resources company managing various mines and a port in Central Queensland.Reporting to the Manager Production, the purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction to operate production of plant, equipment and infrastructure, overseeing compliance to the weekly work schedule, work instructions and defined processes to achieve optimal production outcomes. The focus of this position will be to lead and promote the continuous improvement efforts of our operation in creating value and driving sustainable outcomes. You need to be able to utilise your superior leadership and influencing skills to motivate others to deliver and implement a high level of performance and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Contribute to the preparation of the inputs to form the production budget and short range forecasts.Coordinate & guide Supervisors in the execution of the week 0 schedule.Identify & execute Production execution improvement initiatives.Build functional capability for the Execution sub-function.Guide coordinators in the optimization of equipment via Process Control Systems.Monitor and manage plan performance using the PDCA cycle.Understand operational value chain objectives and priorities to manage critical path activities.Develop capacity to investigate reported events which fall below the Business/Asset-defined risk threshold.Lead and direct work for the planning team to ensure that safe & accurate plans & schedules are in place.Prepare business cases as required to support the successful implementation of the mine schedule.About YouYou will have significant experience within the mining environment. Experience in Continuous Improvement within mining industries will be favourable. You will utilise your strategic and analytical mind, as well as your excellent business acumen to lead our team in delivering superior results.
