Production Scientist I, DNA Nucleases New England Biolabs (NEB) is seeking a Production Scientist to join our DNA Nucleases Group. Reporting to the Group Leader, this role involves supporting the manufacturing of both existing and new DNA nuclease/DNA modifying enzymes products.
Primary Responsibilities: Assist or coordinate product manufacturing needs with the Production Planning and Formulation teams to meet forecasted demand.Participate in fulfillment of OEM/Bulk custom orders and collaborate with the Customized Solutions team on new custom opportunities.Assist or collaborate with Research and Applications & Product Development groups to transfer new products into Production for commercialization.Assist in troubleshooting product-related issues and participate in root cause analyses.Provide technical expertise and assist customers with inquiries about DNA enzyme applications.Perform product-specific quality control (QC) protocols and collaborate with QA/QC and Applications & Development on new QC assay development.Adhere to protocols and maintain proper documentation.Required Qualifications/Experience: Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline with minimum of 6 months hands-on experience in molecular biology, or advanced degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience.Experience in molecular biology techniques, including enzymatic assays, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA purification, and nucleic acid quantification.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite is essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable creating reports, managing spreadsheets, and presenting data in a clear and concise manner. Experience using data analysis and visualization tools is a plus.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure with high attention to detail.Excellent organizational skills, including good lab notebook practices.Proven "good hands" at the bench and an ability to perform careful and consistent experiments.Preferred Qualifications/Experience: Experience in the life science industry is preferred.Experience working in an ERP system (e.g., SAP) is preferred.EEO Statement New England Biolabs is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community; as an EEO/AA employer, New England Biolabs considers applicants for employment without regard to, and does not discriminate on the basis of, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status or disability.
