The Quality Controller is responsible for inspecting and/or testing products before, during, and after the manufacturing process to ensure that purchased parts, manufactured parts, and third-party supplier parts and products align with Heat and Control standards and legal standards.
You will also inspect sub-assemblies and whole goods to ensure conformance to engineering drawings and design intent.The Quality Controller checks the quality of incoming and outgoing materials or products for Heat and Control, as well as the production procedures.
This job involves tasks such as running tests, keeping a record of defects, analysing products, and overseeing procedures.Other Responsibilities:Read and interpret technical drawings accuratelyFabricate parts using trade skills from the specifications in technical drawingsOperate sheetmetal-related plant and equipment safely and in accordance with the manager's instructionsRegularly inspect and measure items to ensure they meet quality standards.
This includes using tools like calipers, micrometers, verniers, and gauges.Monitor and maintain QC measurement equipment to ensure it operates accurately and is calibrated sufficientlyContribute ideas for improvement in quality, cost, and delivery specificationsRole Requirements:Completion of a trade qualification as a first-class sheetmetal worker or equivalentExperience as a sheetmetal worker with stainless and/or mild steel fabrication, preferably in a role related to the food industryStrong organisational skills are necessary for maintaining records, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with the quality standards along with great attention to detailWork with other team members to support, develop and maintain an effective, efficient, and harmonious team environmentWork day/afternoon shifts as required in accordance with the current Heat and Control Enterprise AgreementHeat and Control provides a smoke-free work environment, with excellent working conditions and is an equal opportunity employer.
