Operating from our Dry Creek SA facility, we manufacture and provide customer-focused solutions for the national supply of quality assured plastic and steel products, supporting industries such as mining, viticulture, and agriculture.
About the role DM Plastics & Steel is seeking an experienced Production Planner / Scheduler to join our busy manufacturing facility in Dry Creek, South Australia. This full-time role will be responsible for planning and scheduling production activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products to our customers. This role requires a keen understanding of production operations, inventory management, and supply chain logistics with the aim of optimising manufacturing workflows & minimising downtime while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Consideration will also be given to recent graduates with great Excel skills, and an ability to grow into the role.
What you'll be doing Develop and expedite production schedules to meet customer demand and manufacturing capabilities.Liaise with production teams to understand capacity, lead times, and constraints.Monitor production progress and make adjustments to schedules as required.Plan efficient movement of goods via expedient booking of transport vehicles.Identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing process.Provide production reporting and analysis to management.Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability.Support continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing operation.What we're looking for 3-5 years' experience in a production planning or scheduling role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of production planning methodologies and ERP / MRP systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.High level ability in the MS Suite of programs, particularly Excel.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a distinct advantage.Should this be the next step in your career, we offer a supportive and inclusive workplace where your efforts and success are recognized and celebrated.
