We are hiring a Production Planner who will be responsible for managing the demand plan within SAP for assigned products, analyzing production requirements generated by MRP, determining build quantities, and issuing orders to production to support the build plan and our customer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities: Manage the demand forecast for assigned products that forms the baseline for all production and material procurement activities.
Manage MRP settings and modifiers to ensure high levels of service and in-stock.
Ensure a high quality 12 month production forecast through the management of the demand plan, and the relevant MRP settings that drive planned production orders.
Timely release of production orders based on differing product or production lead-times, as well as the ongoing maintenance and management of open production orders to keep the production schedule as current and as real time as possible.
Ensure a high level of master data and order data accuracy.
Continuous improvement in use of SAP MRP system.
Collaborate with production team members as needed to improve the process and hand-offs between planning and production, work to understand and improve upon production constraints and efficiencies, identify opportunities to reduce waste both in materials and production time.
Work with Purchasing to expedite, reschedule, or revise material shipments to avoid production disruptions while preserving ideal stock levels.
Work with Customer Service to ensure they are informed of any out of stock/backorder issues, recovery timing on issues, as well as other product or lead-time communication needed in support of customer needs or inquiries.
Establish and maintain, as appropriate, a cross-functional communication network across the business with an emphasis on real time interaction to assure product supply meets customer demand.
Participate in developing best practices for the planning department, support and execute continuous improvement in all process of the planning department.
Required Qualifications and Experience: B.S. in Business or a related field (or equivalent directly relevant work experience).
Working knowledge of relevant ERP functionality including bills of materials and inventory management.
3+ years of Production Planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Must be collaborative, with a focus on achieving team and organizational wins.
Must be results oriented, self-motivated, flexible, with a strong sense of urgency.
Strong communication skills and follow through, with an ability to multi-task.
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Access, or other analytic tools or reporting.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: SAP ERP experience preferred.
Experience working in an ISO certified environment.
Experience in the life science industry a plus but not required.
