About the roleThe role of the production operator is to safely execute production activities within the Liberty Bell Bay Furnace operations according to the production plan and operate the physical assets, plant and equipment.

Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, the operator will be responsible for:
Performing molten material tasksUpholding and adhering to all safety procedures on site, identify and assess risk when necessaryWork with physical assets, plant and equipment as defined by the Operation's standards and operating proceduresMonitor molten material quality via sampling and temperature monitoringSafely undertake operation of the overhead gantry crane operationsPerform minor process maintenance on furnace equipment (casting machine system, launder refractory maintenance etc)Maintain housekeeping standards in the furnace building and surrounding areas via hosing, shovelling and use of mobile equipmentComplete equipment pre-start inspections, inspect equipment such as mud gun, drill, poker, fume extraction, casting machine, overhead crane, skips and lifting equipment.The right candidate will have previous experience in mining, processing or heavy manufacturing operation, with a basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
