Production Operator At a glance Position: Production Operator
Primary Location: Geelong (AUS), Victoria, Australia

As a production operator, you will be responsible for safely operating, monitoring, maintaining, and improving the Geelong plant in order to maximize the reliability and efficiency of the operation while ensuring quality product. You will work as part of a 4-person shift team, covering 12-hour day/night shifts, 7 days a week on a 5-week rotating roster, with public holidays off.
What you'll do: Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas. Operate and control process equipment. Monitor process conditions, equipment, and control systems following standard operating procedures. Perform tasks assigned to operations including field checks, safety inspections, sampling, equipment preparation for maintenance, laboratory testing, housekeeping etc. Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems. Participate on empowered continuous improvement teams focused on safety, environment, quality, or other plant performance measures. Participate in all relevant site and plant training programs. Coach and train others on plant operations. What you'll have: Trade qualification (instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical) or tertiary qualification (science or engineering) are highly regarded but not essential. Experience in process or manufacturing environment or performing high hazard work advantageous but not essential. Highly safety orientated, with an ability to identify and communicate hazards related to operational activities. Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within different work groups. Must have sound computer skills as well as Microsoft office experience.
