About Our RoleSimplot Australia are seeking applications for the position(s) of Production Operator to be engaged on a casual basis at our Kelso based food manufacturing facility.
Simplot Kelso is home to our frozen seafood and snack line production and produces about 50 tonnes of product each day.
Approximately 95% of items are made of either Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.
Commencing late January, these roles will form an integral part of our day/night/afternoon shifts (8 hour shifts) within our preparation and packing teams.
On the job training providedFully supplied and laundered uniformBoots & PPE providedWhat You Will DoSafely operate a variety of fixed plant process & packing equipment within a busy production environment including monitoring of system processes & information / adjusting system settings to ensure quality of product is maintained to the defined standardAdhere to GMP and food safety practicesMeet production plans & targetsContribute to continual improvement processes in conjunction with peers, Team Leaders and Area ManagersLiaise with maintenance team (mechanical & electrical) in relation to both preventative maintenance and breakdownsWork within a factory environment that has varying temperatures / noise levels (PPE provided)About YouPossess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplaceDemonstrated experience within a manufacturing, process or mechanical related role - FMCG experience will be highly regardedMechanical & problem solving aptitudeAbility to commit to 8 hour shifts (day/night/afternoon) whilst being on feet for the majority of the shiftExperience in safety & quality systems and proceduresPossess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills and the ability to work to production schedulesAbility to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environmentPossess positive communication skillsA current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience would be advantageousWillingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (including urine based drug & alcohol screening)The PerksOrdinary hourly rates of $40.31 (including 25% casual loading) + shift loadings & overtime (where applicable)Fully supplied and laundered uniform + boots + PPESupportive team environmentOn-site soft tissue specialist appointmentsIncome Protection InsurancePlease click the "Apply" button to submit your covering letter outlining your suitability for the role AND an up to date resume (must include 2x work related referees).
