The aim is to optimize the efficiency of the production function by leading and motivating the production team and ensuring streamlined processes and procedures. You will report directly to the Managing Director and can implement principles such as Lean manufacturing and 5s to achieve maximum output and minimize waste. This permanent role operates Monday to Friday, starting at 6am, with hours required to meet KPIs and targets. The position offers a competitive salary between $100k - $115k (negotiable) plus 11.5% superannuation, a dual cab ute, fuel, attractive bonuses, and a fantastic culture and working conditions.DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Mentoring and directing a team of about 35 staff consisting of CNC Operators, Fabricators, Welders, and assembly staff.Working with the Production Planner to oversee production schedules to meet project deadlines.Monitoring production progress and performance against targets and KPIs, ensuring efficient use of materials, labor, and machinery.Undertaking recruitment, onboarding, training, and discipline of staff to ensure high operational standards.Liaising with the quality team to ensure all products meet the organization's high-quality standards.Overseeing, monitoring, and implementing health and safety policies and procedures ensuring staff compliance.Analyzing existing production processes and identifying areas for improvement to maximize output and efficiency while minimizing waste.Utilizing manufacturing principles such as Lean Six Sigma and 5s.Liaising with the purchasing team for procurement of required materials for production.Resolving customer inquiries regarding the finished product.Leading toolbox meetings to outline daily requirements and expectations.ProfileKnowledge & SkillPrevious operational/production management and leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.A trade background in fabrication, welding, or sheet metal work is helpful, but the ability to quickly learn technical and product requirements is essential.Experience leading a production team to achieve targets and KPIs.Understanding of Lean Six Sigma and 5s manufacturing principles is highly regarded.Previous experience implementing successful changes to manufacturing processes.Ability to troubleshoot and implement solutions with attention to detail and dedication to quality.Astute and customer-focused.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good computer skills and experience with ERP systems or similar.Job OfferWhat's on OfferA competitive salary between $100,000 - $115,000 plus 11.5% superannuation (based on experience).A fully maintained dual cab ute, fuel, with unlimited personal use.A fantastic bonus structure.Relocation assistance available if required.A collaborative and supportive team within a growing organization.#J-18808-Ljbffr
