Roger Industries are a manufacturing company specializing in Die casting, Injection moulding and tool making. We have been in business since 1959 and, under new ownership are moving the business forward to encourage and support new customers and innovation. Rogers Industries are looking for a tool maker machinist to oversee the toolmaking workshop.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in injection mould making, and experience on CNC lathes and milling machinery.
Rogers have several CNC lathes and milling machines with FANUC and HAAS control systems.
You will work under general supervision and be reviewed by Senior Management.
The successful candidate will have good teamwork and respect for others and will work within a dynamic team to evaluate and promote projects from concept through the design process to finished items.
The successful candidate will have excellent computer skills, with the ability to go from machine to screen, be safety conscious, with experience creating SWMS and risk assessments.
You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of workmanship at all times, and reflect a professional approach in keeping with Rogers Industries standards, and be responsible for the following tasks daily:
Supervision and training of junior staff in the tool shop.Manufacture new tooling for injection moulding and die casting.Work with CADCAM software to develop programs for the CNC machinery.Work on manual milling and lathe machinery where required.Oversee the maintenance of the machinery and tooling.Assist with quoting new projects.Repair and maintain all injection moulds and dies.Assist with breakdowns within the moulding process, identify faults and problem solve to help reduce downtime to aid production.Set up a maintenance program for the moulding tooling to determine the condition of the tooling and evaluate when and if it can be repaired in press or must be removed to Tool Room for repair work.Estimate the length of time required to complete a job and report to production.Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage.Report breakdowns and identify the origin of the issues.Report equipment faults and concerns to management.Understand and operate within basic cost/budget measures for tooling.The successful candidate will be compensated with suitable remuneration. The position is a full-time position with a 38-hour week on day shift hours. Some overtime would be expected when required. Package range $90,000 – $110,000 per year experience based.
