KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Management: Lead the production maintenance team to ensure the ships are maintained according to technical, schedule, and quality requirements.Collaboration: Work closely with the Ship Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, and Planning Manager to ensure production activities meet technical standards and project deadlines.Safety Management: Oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and managing subcontractors' adherence to WHS requirements.Problem Solving: Identify and report production issues, ensuring timely action on price variations and work package completion.Resource Management: Manage wharf services (e.g., cranes) and coordinate with the High-Risk Safety Contractor to ensure all work is conducted safely and efficiently.Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with Ships Refit Liaison Officers to resolve conflicts between maintenance schedules and ship operations, ensuring smooth workflow.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Marine Maintenance Expertise: Demonstrated experience in shipboard maintenance practices and delivery of maintenance management systems within the Defence Maritime sector.Leadership & Teamwork: Minimum of 5 years' experience leading maintenance teams and subcontractors in a project environment, with strong team ethics and interpersonal skills.Project Management Skills: Proven experience in managing complex projects, with strong technical schedule management and proficiency in project management software.Safety & Compliance: Strong knowledge of WHS regulations, with a commitment to leading safety initiatives and ensuring all work complies with State WHSE Acts and site safety requirements.Communication & Autonomy: Ability to work independently while effectively communicating and building relationships across all levels of the business and with clients.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Educational Background: Tertiary qualification in a suitable engineering or maintenance-related discipline.Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in marine or naval maintenance management, with expertise in project management and leadership in a Defence environment.Australian Citizenship: Due to the security clearance requirements of the role, Australian citizenship is required.Security Clearance: A current NV1 Defence clearance (BASELINE at a minimum) is mandatory.MAKE YOUR IMPACT | APPLY NOW
