The Production Manager supports the Head of Digital Media Design and the designers within the team by managing all resourcing requirements for the team, both on a per development cycle and an annual basis.This role can be based in Surry Hills or Ultimo Campus. The shoots mostly happen in Sydney and within the CBD area (transport fee will be covered). There will be occasional interstate travel throughout the year. The position operates on business hours Monday to Friday, with ability to work from home on a hybrid basis on the days where there are no shoots. Whilst there are hybrid working arrangements on offer, we do need the successful person to be flexible attending shoots (which could happen first thing 9am, or last thing in the day at 4pm).Day-to-day accountabilities:The Production Manager is overall responsible for organising and managing production schedules, including on location shoots, as well as managing casual / contract / freelance staff and vendors, in conjunction with the project management team. In addition, some of the other responsibilities include:Managing the day-to-day operations of the digital media design team within Product Innovation.Identify resourcing requirements ahead of time based on anticipated development cycle work, and sourcing and selecting (in conjunction with the Head of Digital Media Design) suitable resources to meet production demandsWork with key stakeholders and business leads to identify, concept and implement process improvement initiatives to improve studio workflow and efficiency gains, in conjunction with the project management teamTake a leading role each development cycle in identifying, documenting, reviewing and confirming the schedule of digital media design work required as part of course and subject development.Liaise with the Project Management team to provide ongoing advice and information in relation to media design costs, to ensure planned digital media design work sits within approved course development budgets, and to inform the development of future budget proposals.This is a replacement position and we are looking for someone who can ideally start at the end of June or beginning of July. Other key skills for the role are great communication and adaptability - things change often on shoots (whether it's internal requirements or external vendors constraints) and it will get challenging at time to achieve deadlines with the allocated budgets whilst delivering quality work. The successful candidate will also come with:Previous experience managing media design productions / shootsExperience in production budgeting & schedulingDemonstrated experience managing projects and juggling multiple priorities at the same time. The role will manage up to 150 shoots a year.Ideally, you'll have experience editing and directing (but not essential)Ideally, you'll also have Experience or an understanding of working in the Education industry, including online learning (desirable)We all have things to learn so don't feel like you need to tick all boxes.
