Keane Ceramics is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to lead our production, warehousing, and distribution operations.
In this hands-on role, you will ensure the efficient execution of all manufacturing activities, oversee production teams, manage inventory systems, and maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety (WHS) compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Production Manager, your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth running of the production process while overseeing a dedicated team.
Your responsibilities will include:Production Management: Facilitate production operations to meet daily and weekly targets.
Ensure all production objectives are met on time and in line with product specifications.Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a diverse production team.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, set clear goals, and resolve any issues effectively.
Foster a positive, productive work environment.Inventory and Stock Control: Maintain accurate stock levels, oversee inventory systems (including DEAR system), and ensure materials are available for production without delays.WHS and Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce strict adherence to WHS policies, including silica dust compliance and the correct use of PPE.
Conduct regular risk assessments and resolve any hazards promptly.Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet quality standards before they are dispatched or used in production.
Address any quality issues in collaboration with the Operations Manager.Reporting: Provide detailed weekly reports on production outputs, staff performance, and any safety or maintenance concerns to the Operations Manager and Director.Key Skills and ExperienceTo thrive in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:Minimum 5 years' experience in production management, with a proven track record in overseeing teams, managing operations, and ensuring WHS compliance.Forklift license and experience with warehouse inventory systems (DEAR or similar).Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to resolve issues effectively.Ability to lead by example and maintain a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency.WHS certification and experience in managing safety protocols in a manufacturing setting.Desirable: Certificate IV in Production Manufacturing or similar qualifications.The Ideal CandidateYou are an enthusiastic and experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
